Augmented reality is using computer-generated images to enhance objects in real life and create an interactive experience. It combines elements of the real world with elements of the virtual world. Using Photoshop, After Effects, GarageBand, and Zapworks, I augmented different poetry book covers - complete with video and audio for the full experience. After downloading the Zappar app for a phone or tablet, open the app, point your camera at the covers with the zapcodes, and let the magic begin! When viewing each of these augmented covers, pay close attention to the hovering button underneath the cover. When clicked, it will take you to the book on the Barnes and Noble website, where you will be able to buy it. The purpose of my augmented reality experiences are to stand as a possible marketing campaigns for companies to attract potential customers and increase business, especially in this ever expanding technological era!
